There is slight difference between unlawful assembly and rioting. Rioting is an aggravated form of unlawful assembly.
There is close resemblance between them. In both the offences, common object is an essential ingredient, and there must be five or more persons. Their difference is degree rather than of form.
Unlawful Assembly
