The Mughals were great builders. They built countless buildings in Delhi and Agra. Akbar the great carved out a beautiful city in red stone out of desert sand dunes of Fatehpur Sikri.
I decided to visit these buildings. We few friends boarded the Taj Express and reached Agra. Agra occupies a special place on the historical map of India. First I paid a visit to the Taj Mahal.

It is said when an English lady was asked about her opinion of the Taj, she immediately replied: “I am ready to be buried alive if you (her husband) promise to erect such a noble building over my grave.”

So much is the pristine (old and unspoiled) beauty of the great Taj. The Agra Fort is another great building worth seeing. It is very spacious and solid. You view everything with great awe. Dayal Bagh of Radha Swami at Agra is not to be missed.

Many centuries will take for the completion and construction of it. All sorts of fruit in Marble are the great attraction of Dayal Bagh. Then a visit to Fatehpur Sikri is worth the trouble.
It is made of red sand stone. It is a great marvel of Mughal architecture (the art of building). The Buland Darwaza at Fatehpur Sikri reminds us of Akbar’s victory over Gujarat. The high wall of the entire set of buildings is awe inspiring.
On our way back we halted at Mathura and Viranda ban. Both the places are connected with the life of Lord Krishna. Both the cities are replete with temples of the Lord. Both the Cities are worth seeing. Then we returned post-haste.
